Bitcoin School Argentina is a free Bitcoin education hub located in Cordoba, Argentina's second-largest city. Founded in 2023 by Trevor Schrock, a Canadian expatriate, it became the first Mi Primer Bitcoin Light Node in Argentina -- part of a global network bringing structured Bitcoin education to local communities.
Overview
Operating from Boulevard Chacabuco 625, 1st Floor, in central Cordoba, Bitcoin School Argentina provides a physical space for learning, co-working, and community building. The project is guided by a philosophy of free, open education: all classes and events are offered at no cost. Key collaborators include Micael Margiotta, who hosts the community's podcasts and serves as General Manager of Bull Bitcoin Argentina, and is the author of "El Gran Parasito."
The school partners with Bull Bitcoin, Libreria de Satoshi/B4OS, Coinkite, and Konsensus Network. It is also in the process of joining the Plan B Network, an international alliance of Bitcoin education centers.
Activities
Bitcoin School Argentina runs a dense calendar of recurring events. Weekly meetups serve as the primary gathering for the local community. Monthly BitDevs Cordoba sessions follow the Socratic Seminar format, bringing together developers and technical Bitcoiners for structured discussion of protocol developments, research papers, and open-source projects.
The community produces two podcasts -- "Bitcoin School" and "Somos Crudos" -- and publishes fanzines that blend Bitcoin education with local culture. Self-custody workshops teach participants how to secure their own Bitcoin without relying on third parties, covering hardware wallets, seed phrase management, and multisig setups.
